70 Years

Before wrapping up for night here @ West Court, I wanted to take an opportunity to honor what will be Mom & Dad’s 70th Anniversary early next week. You all know the story–the $10 budget that covered Mom’s corsage, the Preacher who married them and the celebratory dinner @ The Clock–I am sure they could not fathom the journey the next 4+ decades of their ministry together impacting innumerable lives for the Gospel of Christ and Dad’s early passing passing the ‘torch’ to Mother for her own remaining years influencing and leaving her own mark on each of us. Prejudice admitted, there were very few ministerial couples that ever complimented each other, preached and lived the Gospel or loved people more than they loved and left their legacy with each of us. Still to this day–decades after Dad’s passing and Mother just eight years back–there’s not a week that goes by that someone from those years re-cross my life path in some way that their lives were impacted by them. So tonight, a gratefully proud Son remembers his extraordinary Mom & Dad. Happy Anniversary–love and miss you both so much. But not for long–we are on our way.
